Alaska is a male albino Burmese python measuring in at a mere 12 feet in length.  I estimate his weight to be around 60 pounds.  He was a surrender which I took in during January, 2005.  The owner was moving to Alaska so that's what I named him.  Alaska is not near as large as my female albino Burm, Anna Banana, but he is still quite a handful.  He has broken out of various cages, and he continually devises ways to tip the 5 gallon water bucket over in the cage.  The only way to clean his cage is to let him out of the cage for a leisurely excursion.  I have to watch him carefully so he doesn't knock over the tv or other tanks and cages.  There are two resident cats so naturally I don't want them to be Alaska's dinner.  Right now he eats a 4-6lb rabbit every other week; however, like most Burms he doesn't think that's often enough.
